Tim Kasser
ARE THE VALUES OF A NATION REFLECTED IN THE TREATMENT OF THEIR YOUTHS?
Order by e-mail will be posted.
This is a lecture given by the American sociologist, Tim Kasser, to A level students in Northampton. Tim Kasser starts with a description of the values of the Iroquois Indians, and then moves on to discuss global research into the lives of children in different nations and how their lives are affected by the values in their own societies.
Resources Editor Comments: Tim Kasser is an excellent and very engaging speaker who is speaking directly to young people and involving them in his debates. The lecture provides a good understanding of large scale research, the work and interests of sociologists, as well as the above content. This is particularly recommended for students who are unlikely to have the experience of a student conference.
