ATSS Annual Conference
Continuing Professional Development 10th - 12th September 2010 "The Annual ATSS Conference is a must event for any teacher of the Social Sciences. It allows a teacher to hear eminent lecturers speaking (years gone by have included Eileen Barker, Anthony Giddens, Paul Gilroy, Dick Hobbs, David Gillborn) and have workshop sessions on teaching and learning in the Social Science classroom. You can attend exam training sessions from the top examiners for all the major exam boards and pick up all the details of recent resources for use in the classroom. There's also a great social side to the conference with good food, quiz night and plenty of chances to meet colleagues from around the country". The 2010 event will feature: All accommodation is en-suite, this year we are pleased to offer a range of prices and more savings Early Bird Discount for any booking received and paid before March 31st, 2010 Plus £ 7.50 (Early Bird Only) discount per booking for two or more bookings received from the same institution (£ 5.00 after March 31st, 2010) Full Weekend including B&B en-suite accommodation 2 or more bookings per institution If you are not a member why not join and gain all the benefits of membership?

Another Great National ATSS CPD Conference 2009
The National ATSS Continuing Professional Development Conference for 2009 was held at the University of Northampton from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 September. The Keynote speakers this year were David Gillborn, Dick Hobbs, Lucinda Platt and Stephen Fuller. The speakers were, as always, excellent and kept delegates informed (and amused) with recent developments in sociology. In addition, there was the usual excellent mix of workshops and social events, with this year's challenging quiz taking us into the early hours of the morning.
